Bryn Valaika, Maribeth Swetkoff along with Sandra Hillen will be heading to Ms Superpark in Snow Summit this week. All of them rolling straight from the Chicken Jam. They are always stoked to join all the top women at the annual Ms Superpark!
San Juan Capistrano, CA (March 29, 2010) – SNOWBOARDER Magazine’s sixth Annual Ms. Superpark® kicks off tomorrow at Snow Summit. Snowboarding’s top female talent will converge on a custom terrain park; sessioning day and night for four days straight in the hopes of catching a few jaw-dropping moments on film.
GNU GIRL Bryn Valaika at last years Superpark
As the single largest event open exclusively to females, Ms. Superpark® has become a favorite among the athletes. To Hana Beaman, Ms. Superpark® is one of the highlights of her year. “Nowhere else can I ride such a sick setup with all my friends. This year is gonna be even better because it is happening on the same Snow Summit trails I grew up riding on! Bring it!”
Joining Hana on her home turf will be fellow heavyweights Bryn Valaika, Alexis Waite and Tara Dakides alongside up-and-comers like Sarka Pancochova, Spencer O’Brien and Raewyn Reid. “This event is about camaraderie, progression and fun,” says Kenny Mitchell, Action Sports Team Manager, Gatorade. “But it requires long days on the mountain and having Gatorade on hand helps the riders stay fueled so they can go all day.” At Ms. Superpark® the goal is not the podium and the other riders are not competition. Instead, the goal is to push the limits and the riders are there to inspire and support each. It is for that reason that Ms. Superpark® attendance is by invitation only.
SNOWBOARDER Magazine hand-picks the best-of-the-best in the sport to take part in this exclusive editorial park shoot. Similarly, the photographers and film crews on site also represent the most renowned in their field. Shooting the event this year will be Espen Lystad and Ashley Barker among others. “SNOWBOARDER is proud to facilitate collaboration among such an elite group of athletes and filmers,” says Chris Engelsman, Publisher, SNOWBOARDER Magazine. “Each year the girls push the envelope and we’re excited to see what they’re going to do tomorrow.”

Blake Paul Jackson Hole Snowboarding 2010 from rich goodwin
This is a small selection from 17 year old Blake Paul of his work with “Storm Show productions” during the 2010 winter. Look for the full length movie titled “Action Jackson” dropping in the fall. All footage was filmed in bounds at the Jackson Hole resort By me Rich Goodwin. Music is by a little known band calling themselves “Miike Snow”. I don’t think they know how to spell Mike in England. I hope you enjoy this edit Blake put it all together himself. Go Blake!!!!
“The Gnu camp at Breck was an amazing time! I couldn’t believe the amount of progression that was going on. It was like the girls took a fearless pill in the morning and just decided to go for it for two days straight. It was cool to be able to ride with a group of girls that really wanted to improve and most of all have fun on the mountain. The vibe of the camp was so positive and motivating. I am already excited to be a part of it again next year. All of you girls killed it!!” ~Sandra Hillen

Tignes, France – The GNU Frenchman Mathieu Crepel, was close behind Switzerland’s Iouri Podladtchikov to land the Silver Medal in the SuperPipe event at Winter X Games Europe! Drawing inspiration from the hometown locals, he set down a double corked 10 and front 12 on his GNU Park Pickle.
“Being in my home country of France does add some pressure,” Crepel said about performing in France. “All the media and fans here in France has been amazing, and you want to do the best you can in front of them.”
Kaitlyn Farrington is on fire, she just took 2nd at the US Open in the Halfpipe on her Gnu C2 Power Banana! Just after she won her first X-Games Halfpipe gold medal at the inaugural Winter X Games Europe in Tignes, France.
Check out the video from the US Open!
Farrington surprised everyone by upsetting reigning Olympic Halfpipe Gold Medalist Torah Bright by a full two points. Using her Gnu C2 Power Banana, Kaitlyn linked together an impressive run featuring a backside 540, stalefish air, backside 900, frontside 720, and cab 720.
Gnu Women’s Team Manager, Barrett Christy, shared her enthusiasm. “Kaitlyn has been getting better with each event this year. At this first European X-Games she threw down a run to rival gold medalist Torah Bright’s; it was technical, powerful, and smooth. I love how they are both pushing the level of women’s riding these days with big cab spins, inverted rotations, and style for miles. Kaitlyn has what it takes and I’m not at all surprised she won Euro X! I’m so proud of her, she deserves it and I can’t wait to see what she’s going to do next!”
Kaitlyn’s European X-Games gold medal has been another great achievement in an outstanding season for the promising young 20-year-old. Earlier this year she secured the 2nd Annual Dew Cup Halfpipe Title by winning the third and final stop at Mount Snow, VT.
