Gnu’s Tube City : Population Radness

At three years old…Tube City was kicked out of the house and stood on its own. The event that was born in the loins of the Holy Oly Revival as the jib sideshow to the big ‘ol QP has grown quite a following so we decided to give it it’s own day. It didn’t disappoint.

Sunny skies and set-up with over 20 green tubes, tanks and giant metal balls awaited us in Central Park at the Summit at Snoqualmie. Residing Tube City Mayor and recent X-Games gold medalist Forest Bailey was in attendance as well as a grip of pro shreds including Lib Rippers Jesse Burtner, Tucker Andrews and Kurt Jenson, Bent Metal and DWD’s Sean Genovese, Think Thank’s Sean Black and Brandon Hammid and Gnu’s Forrest Burki and Nick Ennen. Add in around 70 NW locals looking to get rad, free bananas and hot dogs and an exclusive Superpass Invite to Snowboarder Magazine’s Superpark and you just couldn’t lose.

At the end of the 3 hour jam the election results came in. The City Council spots went to Jay Hergert, Jon Olmstead, Garrett Read, Trevor Schy, Robert Benott and Keala Kole all going home with Lib beanies and Arnette goggles. First Lady Naima Frost took home a new Gnu Girls Park Pickle. Jacob Krugmire was awarded the Poler Couch Surfer award for Sargent at Arms. Bart Pattituchi grabbed the Treasurer position as well as the Superpark Superpass invite as well as a new Gnu Riders Choice…and after a total onslaught on the course, Stefan Krumm was elected Mayor of Tube City. For his efforts he received a custom Tube City trophy (thanks to Terry Parker and Diecutstickers.com) and a GNU Forest Bailey Park Pickle.

Thanks to GNU, Arnette, Poler, Snowboarder Mag, Think Thank, Snowboy Productions, Tim Zimmerman, Mike Yoshida, Sean Lucey, Ross Phillips, Ryan Davis, Matt Crane, Jesse Burtner, Krush, all the riders and the entire entire Summit at Snoqualmie park crew for an amazing day. We can’t wait for the next election!
