Better pick a good line – Temple and Jamie are watching

Mervin’s own Temple Cummins and Jamie Lynn, legends that set the bar for freestyle, freeride snowboarding, were at Baldface as judges for the Ultra Natural – they put some math on the melee (scored the runs). They rode the epic terrain that Baldface is known for, and hung out with an Ultra crew for five days. We asked Temple for his ultra-judge insights on the event:

What was the wildest thing you saw go down at the Ultra Natural – on or off the hill?
Hetzel schooling any takers in ping-pong. Jamie Lynn’s backflips were wild. Haakon’s method in the event was pretty wild too.

Who had the highest combined on hill, and off hill core score?
Gigi has the highest core score, just because he’s not even looking for a core score.

What did you think of the course?
It’s steeper than it looks.  It’s pretty awesome that those guys jump on it and do what they do, with just a visual inspection.

Did you take any bribes?
I wish.

What effect do you think the Ultra Natural has on the future of snowboarding?
It already is the future.  It’s 2 years now and it’s been a success.  That concept could be adopted to other slopes too, on different scales.  It could work for other levels of snowboarding at your local mountain.

Anything to add?
Thanks Travis for using your power to expand our minds.
