How does this board compare to the metal gnuru or lib tech travis rice pro snowboard? I am trying to decide on a new board and am between the metal gnuru, the money, and the travis rice pro board from lib tech. I am an intermediate rider with a focus on all mountain riding, with very little park experience but would like to expand my park but still have the stability for all mountain riding. Also what size board should I get? I am 5′ 11″ 165 pounds with a size 11 boot. Thanks for the help, can’t wait to get a gnu board for the upcoming season!!

Hello, Hello, is the directional board able to do the switch? Is it a directional board? What’s the diff. With the direction board and normal board?
    Thanks

  • Ed Martin

I’m going to guess it is Not a directional board, but they don’t tell you on this page. Traditionally in snowboarding a directional twin means that the board looks the same on both ends but the sidecut geometry and shape may be designed so that the board is made to go forwards better than backwards. The older lib tech dark/darker series was a good example of this. It had a slightly skinnier tail than tip so it would sink into pow better, inserts that were set back half an inch, and a sidecut that was meant for riding predominantly one direction, yet when you look at it from a few feet away, it looks just like a twin tip board. The Freddi Kalbermatten Swiss Knife Lib Tech Pro model is also a good example of this that you can check out on their site. I believe the Money is not a true directional board based on an educated guess. For one, GNU says it is for park and two when I checked Lib Tech, the new Attack Banana is the same way but it does list the shape. The new Attack Banana is listed as a True Twin shape which obviously means the geometry is the same riding forwards or backwards 50/50, but its physical shape is Directional, flat tail, pointed nose. Likely not intentional but they should have the boards actual shape/geometry listed. I don’t care much if a board has a blunt nose or a pointy one or a flat tail or rounded but I prefer True Twin Geometry and I’d hate to buy a directional geometry by mistake.
