Q&A

WHERE ARE YOU CALLING HOME BASE THIS SEASON? Bellingham, WA/ Mt. Baker.

DO YOU PREFER POWDER OR THE PARK? Pow

HELICOPTERS OR SNOWMOBILES? Well I own a snowmobile and not a Heli so I guess I would have to say snowmobile because, I can go when I want, and where I want. I would never say no to a Heli. I am down for the easiest way up for the best ride down.

HOOD OR THE SOUTHERN HEMISPHERE? I have not had the chance to go to the southern Hemisphere yet but from what I know I would have to choose Southern Hemisphere. When it is summer here you could be riding big open mountain lines with fresh pow. Sounds like a no brainer. Haha

WHICH BOARD MODEL HAVE YOU BEEN RIDING THIS SEASON? Riders Choice. It is the best all around board for me. I love riding regular and switch on big Mt. lines, backcountry jumps, and pow. With the combination of the medium firm flex, C2, and BTX, makes this board the best all mountain board.

WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS WINTER? What I am looking forward to this winter would be just getting after every bit of pow I can.

WHO DO YOU LOOK UP TO IN SNOWBOARDING? Craig Kelly, Travis Rice, Jake Blauvelt, Mark Landvik, Gigi Ruf, and Nicolas Muller.

WHAT IS THE FIRST TRIP YOU HAVE PLANNED THIS WINTER? The first Trip I have planned right now is to head to Cooke City Montana, right before SIA. Sled Land!

FAVORITE PLACE TO SNOWBOARD? Mt. Baker Area.

WILL YOU BE RACING AT THE LEGENDARY BANKED SLALOM THIS YEAR? IF SO DO YOU HAVE ANY WAGERS ON THE TABLE? I will be there and racing. No wages besides with myself. That is the one race that everyone really wants to win. As you get into the race and checking times wages do change a bit. It is good times with big competition.

DO YOU HAVE A CREW? I do have a crew. The whole Northwest. Haha. I feel like the entire snowboard community is a crew in it self. But yes I do ride with a group of friends as well as business partners here in WA. (Baker/Stevens/Crystal). Our Crew is Called Wild Card Movies and we have a video production company. We have produced, “How The North West Was One,” as well as “The Saturday Night Ride.” There are a lot of people, and crews coming in and out of baker, as well as, WCM Crew traveling to ride. We don’t just seclude ourselves to just one crew. Snowboarding is about doing what you love and doing it with people you enjoy it with.

BANANAS OR VEGETABLES? Bananas

WHAT VIDEO CREWS DID YOU FILM WITH THIS SEASON? Jake Blauvelt Naturally, Wild Card Movies, Rascals, and Smith Prospecting Idaho.

WHAT SNOWBOARD FILMS HAVE BEEN GETTING YOU AMPED TO GO SNOWBOARDING? Art of Flight, Retrospect, Rascals, Smith Prospecting, The Saturday Night Ride.

WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR OTHER HOBBIES? Wakeboarding, Mt. Biking, Fishing, Hunting, boating, and just being out doors.

ANY OTHER PROJECTS YOU WOULD LIKE TO TALK ABOUT? Mervin Team Video, Web Series, Smith Prospecting 2012, WildCardMovies. I have also been building a home office/video productions studio, for my self as well as other likeminded people.

WHAT WOULD YOU SAY IS THE BEST PART ABOUT RIDING FOR GNU ? The family that is there and the best boards built.

ANY CONTESTS WE WILL BE SEEING YOU IN THIS WINTER? Banked Slalom, North Face Masters, and Holy Oly. Prob some more as well.
