The Cold War is over, let the Headspace Race begin! Gnu Unrealist Max Warbington, along with fellow yankee Ted Borland, got the invite to experience a Russian spring break snowboard / party like no other, Sochi’s New Star Camp. No faulty visas, exorbitant fees, impossible rush deadlines, Russian consulates, missed flights, language barriers or lost luggage were going to stop Max and Ted’s excellent Russian adventure! With some miraculous miracles and a lot of hustle from our own Dave Marx all obstacles were overcome and an amazing week of sick park riding and beautiful culture shock preceded.
Think Thank’s Sean Lucey was there to make this surreal edit of Unreal snowboarding moments. Max documented the whole thing with his 35mm camera, the full photo gallery and detailed misadventure is up now at snowboardermag.com All said and done it was one of those weeks that seems almost too impossibly strange and awesome. The only thing you can say about it is “LOL, we went to Russia.”
